Hello everyone!
I hope you’ve had a beautiful summer. I have a few things to share with you today.
It’s been more than 2 months since we had started working on songs acoustically. For us, Veli-Matti and Yuko, the process has been quite educational in that it encouraged us to play simply yet precisely to make it work. We have managed to record a few songs as demos. Click the name of the song to take a listen:
A few words about the last one, Tree of Me. I wrote the lyrics in response to the tragedy in Orlando, Florida, where 49 innocent lives were taken because of one person’s blind hatred towards the LGBTQ community. I felt an enormous amount of rage and sorrow, and it needed to be let out in a creative way somehow. The song was born out of that need. No hatred or injustice or violence can conquer the world in the end. What keeps on growing underneath all this chaos is the roots of perseverance. Because of them, we can stand up and keep fighting. I believe in human goodness and resilience.
More demos coming up soon!
With excitement,
Yuko
